About the Role

Do you enjoy being the go to person that keeps things organised and running smoothly?
Are you someone who takes pride in getting the details right and delivering a great experience for others?
Looking for a role where you can build a career in HR within a fast-paced, people-first environment?

We’re partnering with a growing UK based FMCG business to hire a People & Culture Assistant into their team. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a company going through a genuine transformation, moving towards a more modern, people-focused HR function.

The Business:

This is a well established, high growth food & beverage business with a strong position in its category and a clear ambition to continue expanding across new markets and product areas.

They combine the stability of an established manufacturer with the mindset of a business that is evolving, investing in people, systems, and culture to support long term growth.

The environment is:

  • Fast-paced and collaborative
  • People-focused, not process-driven
  • Built around ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

The Opportunity:

As People & Culture Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the HR function, ensuring employees have a smooth and positive experience across their entire lifecycle.

This is a broad, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in everything from onboarding and employee support through to data reporting and process improvement.

You’ll also be part of a wider journey, supporting the transition towards a more digital, insight-led People function, where data and systems play a bigger role in decision-making.

It’s an ideal opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants to learn, develop, and grow within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding and inductions, ensuring a smooth first-day experience
  • Manage employee lifecycle administration, including leavers and contract updates
  • Track and report on absence, supporting accurate record keeping and insights
  • Support payroll queries and time & attendance checks
  • Maintain accurate employee data and produce HR reports
  • Administer employee benefits and support wellbeing initiatives
  • Coordinate occupational health processes and compliance requirements
  • Support recruitment activity, including interview coordination and candidate communication
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing clear and timely support
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working

About You / Requirements:

  • Some experience within HR, administration, or a people-focused role
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with data and documentation
  • Confident handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Comfortable using systems and working with data/reporting
  • Clear communicator, able to build relationships across the business
  • Proactive mindset, someone who looks to improve things, not just maintain them
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within HR / People & Culture
  • A HR related Degree or CIPD qualification is desirable
