Travel: Regular regional travel required
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Regional Sales Director to provide strategic and hands-on leadership for our South East sales operation. This is a senior, high-impact role with full accountability for sales performance, distribution growth, and most critically the leadership and development of a large, field-based sales organization operating across Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.
This role is ideal for a commercially driven leader who thrives in the field, builds high-performing teams, and knows how to translate strategy into execution through people.
The Role
As Regional Sales Director, you will have full responsibility for the direction, performance, and effectiveness of the regional sales organization. You will lead, coach, and inspire a geographically dispersed team of sales managers and representatives while strengthening relationships with key retail partners, regional chains, independents, and wholesalers.
You will balance strategic planning with active field leadership—setting clear expectations, developing talent, and ensuring consistent execution across the region.
Key Responsibilities
People & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large, field-based sales team across multiple states
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and results
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate sales talent to ensure strong bench strength
- Set clear objectives, performance metrics, and development plans for all sales leaders and representatives
- Foster a safe, compliant, and inclusive working environment
Sales & Commercial Strategy
- Own regional sales, gross profit, and distribution targets
- Develop and execute short- and long-term sales strategies aligned to regional and company objectives
- Drive new business development, channel expansion, and market penetration
- Lead relationships with key regional chains, independent retailers, and wholesalers
- Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities across multiple channels
Execution & Performance Management
- Ensure consistent execution of sales programs and initiatives across all territories
- Monitor performance, analyze results, and implement corrective actions where required
- Develop accurate forecasts to support supply planning and inventory management
- Manage regional sales budgets and contribute to overall business profitability
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a senior commercial representative within the region
- Build strong internal partnerships across marketing, operations, and supply chain
- Represent the business at industry, community, and customer events
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience leading sales teams, ideally within food, beverage, or FMCG distribution
- Proven success managing large, multi-state, field-based sales teams
- Strong relationships within regional retail chains, independents, and wholesalers
- Demonstrated ability to drive growth, expand distribution, and improve profitability
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
