Head of Sales and Operations

Are you an experienced Head of Sales who has expereince wihtin international sales?
The Head of Sales and Operations plays a crucial role in developing and executing the commercial strategy of the business in collaboration with manufacturers, aiming for the successful expansion into new markets and increased sales within existing markets through key partnerships. This role encompasses overseeing operations including forecasting with manufacturers, expenditure, and warehouse management with the logistics partner, DHL. Additionally, the Head of Sales and Operations leads and motivates a high-performing Business Development team to achieve and exceed company targets.
The business has a great history of operating for nearly 50 years! Selling some of the UK’s and internationally renowned brands.
- Proactively manage the current partner base, including forecasting, with full accountability for achieving business growth objectives.
- Exercise full P&L control from end to end, whether dealing with distributors or direct retailers.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on departmental activities related to sales performance, new business pipelines, and growth metrics.
- Collaborate with the owner to implement and execute a comprehensive growth strategy.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions to ensure targets are met.
- Deliver concise information and reporting to the company owner.
- Ensure timely and complete shipping to all partners.
- Coordinate trade show setups.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced market, with a proven ability to overcome challenges and think innovatively.
- Experience leading successful international FMCG sales, including knowledge of warehouse, transport, and logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of modern sales techniques, tools, and management best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor individuals to maximize performance and achieve business outcomes.
- Capable of managing multiple demanding projects simultaneously while delivering on core performance targets.
- Ability to develop marketing ideas and strategies.
- Demonstrated success in team management within high-value B2B environments.
- Knowledge of high contract value commercial operations within transport, logistics, and warehousing.
- Experience in building successful relationships with diverse cultural backgrounds at various levels across external stakeholder groups.
- Top-to-top experience with manufacturers.
- Manufacturing knowledge in FMCG.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Proficiency in P&L management and cost analysis.
- Experience in developing strategies with manufacturers and partners spanning 1 to 3 years.
- Expertise in order profile planning and forecasting in the short term (8-12 weeks) and long term (52-104 weeks).
- Proficiency in cash flow forecasting and warehouse/stock management.
- Familiarity with trade shows and setup.
